What are the benefits of a Life Care community?
Residents at The Stayton know they’ll have access to quality services and first-class amenities to accommodate both their current and future lifestyle, preferences and needs. Our onsite assisted living, memory support, long-term care and other therapeutic and support services mean you don’t have to worry about the “what-ifs” of life. Planning for the future is less worrisome with this peace of mind, which in turn provides you with more time to do the things you choose. Oftentimes, people feel this allows them to live longer, healthier and more satisfying lives.
How do entrance fees and monthly fees work?
Sometimes referred to as a “buy-in,” an entrance fee at The Stayton is a one-time, upfront fee that makes it possible to include care for life with your residency. An entrance fee means you enjoy full use of community amenities, a wide range of benefits and services, lifetime residency and priority access to quality care right here on campus. This fee is 90% refundable to you or your estate.
The monthly fee is based on the size of your residence and number of occupants in the apartment home you choose. Because there are no property taxes or home insurance premiums, you can more easily budget for monthly expenses because everything is consolidated and most expenses are included. If and when you do need supportive care, you pay a substantially discounted rate determined by the current rate of care when you move into independent living.
When is assisted living the right choice for me or a loved one?
In the same way that your preferences and interests can change over time, your care needs can too. Assisted living is appropriate when you or your loved one requires extra support for daily tasks like bathing, taking medication, dressing, eating, transportation and housekeeping. By choosing assisted living, you or your loved one can maintain an independent lifestyle while also receiving a plan of care tailored to your specific needs. More than this, you’ll also have access to the abundant, life-enriching activities and programs available at The Stayton, ranging from fitness classes and social gatherings to educational opportunities and city outings.

Does insurance cover or pay for assisted living?
Insurance policies vary, but many health insurance programs and long-term care insurance policies reimburse select assisted living costs. Many residents also use life insurance conversion benefits and veterans’ benefits to cover costs as needed.
What can I expect from the team members caring for my loved one in memory care?
Every member of our dedicated team undergoes thorough training to understand and cater to the distinctive needs of our residents. They invest time in understanding your loved one’s background, personal preferences and daily rhythms. This deep, personalized connection fosters positive engagements, may minimize behavioral challenges and often enhances overall well-being, potentially reducing medication needs.
What if my loved one needs memory care as well as other assistance?
If your loved one’s needs change over time, we are fully equipped to seamlessly enhance the level of care. It’s part of our commitment to serve residents and their families at the highest level. Another benefit of a Life Plan agreement at The Stayton is that friends, families and couples all remain close – within the same building – even if one person requires a higher level of care.
Do I or my loved one need to be an independent living resident to use assisted living, memory care, long-term care or rehabilitation services at The Stayton?
Not at all! We accept admissions directly to our various levels of care.
